Political ecology has now emerged as a central interdisciplinary field for thinking about society/ environment relations. For the last 30 years, ecología política has been very rapidly developed in Latin America, with great theoretical, empirical and militant richness.
As a result, Political Ecology is facing an institutionalizing phase and display a significant level of consolidation as a frame of intellectual and political analysis. This international symposium aims to revise the Political Ecology panorama in Latin America according to these topics
- Map the specificities of this latin American political ecology vis-à-vis the Anglo-Saxon current
- Identify the reasons why Political Ecology as a field of research has not yet been appropriated by the French social sciences
- Examine the internal diversity of this field, focusing on national/regional trajectories of ecological política
- Identify new topics and emergent agendas of this research-program.
